Endive with smoked sausage and gravy

By Grandma Nettie

Grandma’s Soep normally makes soups with young people and lonely elderly people, but after two years of making soup at the Vreugdehof, Grandma Nettie thought it was enough. World-famous and loved for her tomato soup, but also a bit bored by cutting the tomatoes and finely chopping the basil. The tomatoes were exchanged for the potatoes, and the basil for the endive. Peeling and mashing the potatoes didn’t do the grandmothers and grandfathers much good, so that task was outsourced to the youngsters. Meanwhile, Grandpa Jan takes care of the seasoning of the gravy. This is how the first Grandma’s Stamppot came into being and the grandmothers, grandpas and youngsters were all able to make their own contribution to this. Our stew is made from only fresh vegetables, fresh herbs and a smoked sausage with 2 Beter Leven stars.  The fresh stew is flavored with fried onions, cream, mustard and nutmeg.

Full of fresh endive, fresh herbs, smoked sausage with 2 Beter Leven stars and delicious Grandpa’s gravy.
