Oma’s Soup is a fast growing social enterprise with the goal of fighting loneliness among the elderly. We do this by bringing young and old together and organising fun cooking days, where we make delicious soups together, all according to Grandma’s recipes.
What you can expect from us
- Guidance from the founder and business manager
- Internship fee of 250 euro per month (+ bonus structure)
- Freedom to express all your creativity
- Possibility of a contract
Your role
Oma’s Soep finances the cooking days/surprise packages for the elderly by selling soups on a large scale. Since this year Oma’s Soep also sells a new product: Oma’s Stamppot. We make these soups and stews based on Grandma’s recipe in a professional production kitchen. We sell our soups to supermarkets, companies, restaurants and hospitals. We are already on the shelves of Albert Heijn, AH To Go, Spar, Picnic and Jan Linders Supermarkets. Oma’s Stamppot currently only sells Oma’s Soep in her store in: ‘t Keukentje in Amsterdam. The goal is also to sell these Oma’s Stamppots as soon as possible through supermarkets, businesses and restaurants. Our dream is to be able to bring young and old together throughout the Netherlands, and to realise this we need to sell more soup and stew. For this purpose we are looking for an enthusiastic intern, who together with the full-time team, will investigate and set up the possibilities for Oma’s Soep abroad. An internship with a lot of responsibility and impact!
What are we looking for in you?
You are full of positive energy, you are creative, you work independently and you are socially strong by nature. You get excited about coming up with new ideas to make Oma’s Soep successful abroad. You have the ability to make the right choices when it comes to expanding abroad based on the right data and information. At the same time, you can quickly turn your ideas into action and are not afraid to call people ‘cold’. Finally, you are analytically strong and can easily get people together.
What are you going to do?
We would like to give you the responsibility to take the first steps towards Oma’s Soep abroad. This will be your daily activity and you will always do this in cooperation with the founder and other people from the Oma’s Soup team. For this research you will contact retailers, student associations and soup producers abroad. After finding the best place to start with Oma’s Soep abroad, you will be responsible for setting up a student board in this country. In other words, you’re going to visit London, Berlin or Stockholm (depending on the choice of city)!
Your role?
You’ll get a glimpse behind the scenes of one of the fastest growing social startups, learn about the emerging sustainable food industry and get in touch with big companies that also want to buy or to help grow Oma’s Soep. An environment in which you are given the freedom to develop yourself at lightning speed. You get a lot of freedom from us to show you how to work independently. You will end up in a social and ambitious team where you will quickly feel at home.
